For this week’s Rhapsody, I would like to apologize in advance for this one but it definitely appealed to my sense of whimsey… and the perverse. I just discovered the William Shatner version of Bohemian Rhapsody and I had to share the pain. Again… I’m sorry… really.

I know sometimes it seems that this entry is degenerating to nothing but different versions of Queen and Liszt but this one is fun. My opinions about the new Battlestar Galactica are… mixed. I enjoyed the first two seasons after that I felt it diversed all of the mockery it got… Like this video here.
Today we’re back to yet another version of Queen‘s Bohemian Rhapsody this time done by Austrian brass ensemble Mnozil Brass. This one’s a lot of fun. Enjoy.
In my ongoing search for new Rhapsodies I inevitably find myself repeating myself with different recordings of some of the more popular example… Brahmes, Gershwin, Liszt… and Queen. I try to go for the more interesting variations after all what is the point of listening if someone merely cribs the original. That being said here is “Weird Al” Yankovic’s Polka version of Bohemian Rhapsody…. Strangely fascinating in a very perverse way.
I have a confession to make… this is the third time I’ve went with a variation of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsodies for this segment but I can explain.
I just started watching Treme. It’s just as good as The Wire and in the process I found out about Lucia Micarelli. I don’t think I need to say more.
