It’s always a good idea to keep an eye on your drummer. Who knows what will happen if you turn your back on him.
Fedya is not obsessing about Gabriella at all, and she is not taking up any space in his head at all.
In case anybody is missing it, that’s Bert hiding behind the potted plant he’s using as camouflage. The Department of Minor Nuisances wouldn’t dream of stopping him.
The Circle Band has had enough weird gigs that they go out of their way to keep things from being their problem. Fortunately, the Department of Minor Nuisances has contingency plans for these things.

In Fedya’s defense, Gabriella isn’t looking where she’s going either. Fedya’s probably been rationing his cigarettes as best he can since the squirrel found his emergency stash. Which might explain why he’s so distracted.
