Taking Responsibility
As Rowan commented earlier, it’s apparently Danielle’s practice to stand in the center of the room disapproving of everything during holiday parties.
Presumably Brian knows Danielle from the complete dossier he has on Jim but such familiarity as to dare research someone should be unheard of!

Rowan and Jim seem to have an interest in comparing notes over their… difficult siblings. They might even be a bet going by the end of the night.

Danielle McManus is the sister of one of Fitzpatrick Consulting’s newest clients. We don’t know what she does there, but she says it’s very important. We last saw her being annoyed by Brian at this year’s New Year’s party.

Even though he’s rushing to the bus giving her ten minutes of his time seems very charitable of Brian. Obviously Danielle disapproves.
Obviously what Brian considers to be “dumb stuff” is extremely relative.Of course to Danielle this is all just his inability to perceive genius. (probably because he thinks it’s norman)
