For whatever reasons, Hilda does tend to be very nervous about social situations. This won’t be the first time Kate has had to be a chaperone.

Considering how Hilda had promised to throw her in the lake, if she didn’t wake up, Kate is enjoying a pleasant morning.
We haven’t seen Kate interact with Stefan since last spring. The fact it takes her new assistant to schedule quality time shows how distracted she’s been by her writing.
