Don’t Overwork
It has been clear that Ms. Shui has been seen since her first appearance. She has pulled office all-nighters before. Mr. Zhu wants to be sure she stops doing this before she gets caught,
Slowly but surely Mr. Zhu is becoming a better team leader. At least he’s keeping Ms. Shui’s keenness in check enough that Management won’t find out about it. (Mythical Resources hates the extra paperwork.)
We join everybody at Optimism. We’re comfortably sure they’re just messing with Ms. Shui about sleeping in the office.
Overzealous security appeals to my sense of humor. I think I was inspired by the “recycled” office workers from the Laundry Files for the ones at the DMN. Don’t go into the office after hours without your pass.
We haven’t seen Nikki for a while, which is a shame since I find her progress in the strip entertaining. Fortunately, it looks like Ms. Shui has made sure that Paul will remain her guardian for the foreseeable future.
The “technicality” of Nikki being part of the Circle Band continues. As long as nobody thinks to “fire” her it will continue that way. The department regards her as too much of a useful asset.
