Nancy really shouldn’t be giving away secrets like that, but not being a parent she feels she has the license to throw a few curve balls to the kids so she can mess with all of her friends who are.

If it’s not clear, Nancy is joking by comparing ice cream to drugs… It’s probably not that funny but Paul’s gotten good enough at picking up all of the relevant cues and make a show of being amused.
