I’m happy to say I have never met any of those cartoon Wiccans who call the Salem Witch trials the “burning times” or that believe their ancestors were victimized by it. The closest thing I’ve encountered came from the other side of the spectrum talking to an equally cartoon Christian who waxed poetically about a time when “people were willing to do something about witches.”

Having said this, I frequently get the impression that in fiction regarding neopaganism; any reference to “The Burning Time” is shorthand to show just how flaky the character that mentions it is.

Anyway, Blossom doesn’t believe in the burning times. She’s in a bad mood and is being sarcastic.
