It Was Just One Musical Number!
The musical number was a jazz medley that started on Lincoln Blvd and proceeded up Fifth avenue ending with a grand finale in Veterans’ Park. The most memorable part of it was the amazing solo dance routine by Mrs. Grace Palmontela, age 87 accompanied by a chorus of police and gang members. It held up traffic in Homestead for three hours.
It took nearly all of the 888 office’s month budget to make sure nobody remembered this happening (or notice the vast improvement of the previously paraplegic Palmontela’s health) It was still enough of a rush job they were unable to contain the nearly five hundred reports of blackouts at local hospitals that day adding to the area’s national reputation for UFO activity.
I would have thought that they would focus their budget on “there is a perfectly reasonable explanation” instead of on “not remembering”.
I guess it’s one of those “if you have a sledgehammer, a sledgehammer is your solution to everything” kind of things.
