Kate had been reluctant to tell Kris about finishing the first book, but she just knew that Kris would find out somehow or other. The most likely of the numerous ways it could happen was Hilda would just tell her. So, here she was sitting at a posh tea house across the table from the tiny old lady who grinned back at her.

“That’s wonderful news, darling!” Kris said showing all of her perfect teeth.
