We haven’t seen Hsin’s apartment since the last time Lin, (the friend who gave him the apartment) made his life interesting again. We haven’t seen Hsin’s mysterious and intimidating grandmother since her first appearance, here.
While Kate may not share Hilda’s optimism, but she should consider this… People like it when Hilda trusts them because they know what will happen if they break that trust.
At the moment it’s not apparent who made the arrangements for Hsin’s Grandmother’s visit. The real world explanation is that’s the way Hsin’s Grandmother likes it.
