The “technicality” of Nikki being part of the Circle Band continues. As long as nobody thinks to “fire” her it will continue that way. The department regards her as too much of a useful asset.

Nancy is clearly annoyed that Dielle got the drop on her regarding kid wrangling. To make matters worse, showing how annoyed she is would spoil Bonnie and Jules’s “learning experience”. Nikki finds all of this very amusing.
