Since my family traveled quite a bit, I was brought up honoring the three-hour rule of getting to the airport. Even though things like light rail, Uber and online check-in has streamlined things, I’ve had more than one occasion where I have been glad to have it as part of my planning. Even if it means a long wait at the terminal the rest of the time.

For people like Michelle, it remains just a suggestion.
