Rhapsodies

For the record, Wendy, the woman Mr. Ying never heard of, has appeared before. She’s one of the two women, I’ve always referred to as “Michelle’s posse” who serve as someone for Michelle to talk to and sing backup. In the last few years, she’s pretty much only shown up in performing in New Year’s Day Comics.

I frequently find myself underestimating the Department of Minor Nuisances’ potential for exposition. Sure I frequently use them as a way to explain things, I don’t think I’ve ever used them to reintroduce bit character or gloss over several weeks of continuity. The only problem with this, while they are not technically omniscient, they have access to all of the files. Because of this, it’s difficult to think of natural reasons for them not to talk about things they take for granted but you, the audience, aren’t supposed to know about just yet.
