There’s time’s where it seems that some version of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody is the default for this series of posts but this one is cool, promise!
This one is done as the a capella version of Tim Blais’ master’s thesis on on three-dimensional gravity as performed by Tim Blais.
So here it is, “Bohemian Gravity”
Enjoy.
For the past month or so I’ve been having trouble with the internet slowing down after seven o’clock at night I’m not the only one who’s noticed it I was very amused following a tech support thread where the Comcast guy was trying to blame the modem. Yes that’s right folks planned obsolescence is now time sensitive.
For the most part I’ve been trying to ignore it as the nuisance it is. After all one shouldn’t be spending the entire evening surfing the internet anyway, right?
But despite this every now and then I have a last minute thing to do and then it’s murder.
The frustrating thing is that most pages I use seem to have been speeding up… most everything except WordPress. So here I was late on my deadline for today’s strip. I had just finished it and was trying to upload it on time so I could go to bed.
It was like trying to suck a basketball though a straw. In the end it took me nearly 45 minutes to upload a 50k image and post it. It almost makes me miss the halcyon days of dialup.
Today’s Rhapsody is a Piano Rhapsody with a white Mask by Alan Magnetti. It’s short but kind of relaxing.
Well I just checked off another of the minor repairs set off by last week’s surprise theme change. One of the things that confused me was what at the time I thought were thumbnails of strips on the first blog post of every day. Since this was on the bottom of a very long list of fixes I didn’t get around to doing anything about it other than throwing the question out there in passing. I finally found out what I thought were thumbnails were actually the entire strips in the blog posts as “featured images” now I’m sure there was an easier technical way to do it but instead I settled for deleting them from all of the posts manually. A tedious chore of the catagory of which I like to call “knitting” the problem with these particular jobs is whenever I have a day where I’m slightly off my game I can obsess about them and taking the entire day doing it instead of everything I’m supposed to be doing.
But anyway after way too much time I got rid of what I hope is all of them. Now back to real work.
Well I just started breaking in my new sketchbook. Sometimes I’ll block for over a week to start one, obsessing over the perfect first picture. It’s like being a narcissist with a mirror. So there’s nothing like a little bit of drawing from life to snap yourself out of that.
Today’s sketch is from my usual Tuesday drinking group with my friends Goldy and Steve in the middle of an argument. Goldy was in full rant mode… (Steve was remarkably sedate.)
