Well just finished restocking on books and promotional materials for the Emerald City Comic convention. Including a new promotional postcard. This is a huge relief, I always feel like I put all of this off until the last minute and end up spending the last remaining weeks stressing out about whether everything will get to me on time.
I’ll be with the Cartoonists Northwest Table at #1005 Come and see me, I’m looking forward to it!
Just thought I’d share something enjoyable that I just stumbled over this morning. The Royal Shakespeare Company’s new version of Hamlet with the Tenth Doctor, David Tennant, as Hamlet, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen as the ghost. Enjoy!

Today’s sketch is of The Triumph of Neptune by Luca Giordano at the Seattle Art Museum

Okay, today’s sketch is an old one. It’s a statue of the god Shiva from the Boston Museum of Fine Arts Indian collection. Apparently it’s from the Chola Period, 10th Century A.D. (unfortunatly this is another one of the sketches back from the time I was more interested in drawing a nice picture than in taking good notes.)
Okay, today’s piece is from the saloon gallery at the RISD Art Museum. I’m embarrassed to say I mislabeled it as the Marriage of Thetis & Pelius, which is in another room and so far I haven’t been able to ID it after the fact. Drawing this one was interesting as I botched my initial layout when getting the fundamental details down and everything kind of overflowed out of the initial rectangle, that I’d put down as a thumbnail for the composition and kind of spilled out onto the rest of the page.
UPDATE
It turns out my notes were right after all. Joachim Antonisz. Wtewael Dutch 1566 – 1638 The Marriage of Pelius and Thetis 1610. It’s just when I looked it up to confirm all of the data steered me to the Marriage of Pellius and Thetis in the Museum’s Renaissance room.
