As has been mentioned before, about the plan, when Brian’s being transparent you can’t see anything. And his explaining everything has gone over the heads of people smarter than Olive.
The little slapstick mishap may have given Nancy plenty of ammunition for guilt-tripping. However, it provides Paul with some easy straight lines. This leads to innuendo and flat-out seduction.
