I try not to make a habit of making Sunday strips. There’s two reasons for this. The first is they take forever. The second is they require meticulous planning and if I use the jazz improv approach I usually use for the dailies what I get is one big mess.
Anyway I did this one (and made much more work for myself) because of some very poor planning regarding Kate’s storyline. The party celebrating her new book was supposedly going to be “in a week” since August, and if it didn’t happen soon it would interfere with the holiday season and even by the standards of comic time things would be silly.
Anyway I decided to slip it in for a couple of weekends and pray it doesn’t cause a precedent.
For anyone curious Stefan was last seen in this black and red number back when he was going to be Kate’s date for the last party. (He couldn’t make it because of the flu.)
And on a tiny little side note frequently when I’m doing crowd scenes I stock the crowds with as many cameos as I can get away with… See if you can spot them.
