Looks like Mr. Large Hideous Bull Creature’s disguise fooled a few people. Dana’s more than happy to pick up the slack as Dielle’s winglady when Michelle’s not around.

Paul and Shilo have been good friends since the beginning. Snarkiness is allowed, even in front of family. We know that Nancy was giving Dana some tips during the picnic. Presumably, it happened here.
As Nancy points out, retreating to the kitchen may be cliche but it’s nice to have it as an option. Besides, it gives you easier access to the booze.
