Rhapsodies

Considering we saw Mr. Lo back in the office yesterday it stands to reason that Michelle is back from her business trip as well.

It’s far too easy to overthink my setting. My main problem is the setting I like to call the “My American Cousin-verse“, should be much more different than our America than it is. I don’t say much about it because the cast takes it for granted. Because I don’t want to confuse readers or make things come off as completely foreign, I use a very large butterfly net.

Having said that, I like all of these little details, and keep thinking about where things are different. In this case, I was thinking about Los Angeles. Characters probably mean Los Angeles when they say California, this doesn’t have to be the case. I briefly considered having Michelle going to San Francisco instead. However, Los Angeles is known as one of the hubs in the media industry already and I didn’t want to explain why someplace else would be. Instead, I decided to imply that different things happened to Holywood.

I’ve really got to start writing an appendix.
