In case anybody was wondering that Kevin’s strange dreams were limited to Christmastime, no, no they are not. The Mr. Carter Kevin is helping is Mr. Randolph Carter himself from H. P. Lovecraft‘s The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath. It looks like Kevin has found his way into the Dreamlands… probably by accident.
The Zoogs are one of the lesser beings in the dreamlands. Not technically “good guys” (Lovecraft wasn’t fond of them because they were rivals to the Cats of Ulthar) however not a threat either. I kind of like them though, and the name makes it clear they are not a threat. On a side note, I’m frustrated that I have to remind myself that Lovecraft’s Ghouls are not actually evil.
I don’t know specifically what Kevin and the Ghouls are holding off. I mean, I can guess but most of the… things in the Dreamlands have pretty goofy names and I’d already mentioned the Zoogs. Whatever they are they’re probably the ones that ate Kevin’s pants.
