I’m sure, that Tara actually means it when she says she wants what is best for Conal. The fact that Conal may disagree with her about what is best, is just an interesting challenge.
At the moment nobody is going to complain about this and are going to let Tara run the show in the background. After all, a bored Tara is a terrifying Tara.
