Ms. Wren doesn’t need to hear all of Ms. Shui’s exposition. The facts will be sufficient.

The department has been doing favors for, or running parallel operations with, other offices for some time. It’s getting to the point where some of the newer members wonder what their division does.

When I was writing this one, I originally planned for Ms. Shui to be completely starstruck by Ms. Wren. After all, she’s a hopeless romantic who always wears heart-patterned neckties. Even if she never worked for the Department of Love, she’d definitely be a total fangirl for them. But then I checked the archives and found that she already met her.
