Gage wondered why he agreed to play. It probably was because Dielle had said that she believed in him. He wasn’t sure if he agreed with her, but he had been outvoted by her friends. It’s always hard to make your point known when someone is holding you several feet off the air in a tight bear hug.

It was only a matter of time before Dielle had wrangled together the rest of the team consisting of her roommate, Deidre, and Deidre’s boyfriend, Ying. Ying seemed embarrassed as if he felt he shouldn’t be there. As for Deidre, she seemed nice, though at the moment that was all Gage could remember about her.

To his surprise, once the game started, they started winning. It was easy with Dielle’s two large friends blocking nearly all of the balls. Before he knew it they were at the winning point… With him serving.

Gage just knew good things like this couldn’t last forever.
