Kate was bracing herself for being handled. Fortunately, Hilda made other arrangements. We will meet Hilda’s mother soon enough. I’m vague on lots of the details of what happened in Europe in this setting. Though I’m mostly certain there was never anything as severe as World War II and therefore, no Cold War either. Therefore, I can say with certainty, Hilda’s Mom’s car is not the East German model it’s based on. It still fits the niche of one of the first things you think of when you’re talking about jalopies in Europe though.
