This is not the first time Deidre has been obsessing about party plans. The last one turned into that year’s Thanksgiving party. As Dielle said since she doesn’t get to socialize much it’s her way of overcompensating. However in the end, Dielle worries that she isn’t helping her friend as she’s there to shoot down her stupider ideas.
