In hindsight, this strip had so many missed opportunities. The big one was not having Dielle being worried about being
taken “upstairs” when Michelle mentions the third floor. For the last couple of years, Delle has started using the term “upstairs” for anyplace Michelle takes her to that she doesn’t remember afterward. (mainly because getting to most of them evolves a certain service elevator) The thought the third floor of the building she works in, a building that one can clearly see has three floors from the outside, actually is its third floor, comes as a bit of a shock.
Speaking of missed opportunities, this strip reminds me of one of Michelle’s character tics I had planned. I originally planned to have her attribute everything remotely philosophical to Buddha. looking back, I found I only had her doing it once. For that matter, Michelle’s Buddhism hardly comes up at all. With any luck, this will change.
