Brian has given Olive different titles before (whether for his own ammusement or not, is still unclear) Moving her from “senior file clerk” to “expert archivist” is a new one.
Brian should not use metaphors at the best of time. Even among most people, comparing useful information with explosives, might raise some eyebrows. It leaves Olive wondering if she’s working for terrorists!

Of course Fran knows just how spontaneous Professor Smythe is, since his spontaneity got her drunk before noon over brunch. Don’t worry, nothing happened. Whatever else we can say about Smythe’s eccentricities, he’s a perfect gentleman.
Rowan may be resorting to hyperbole for her pep talk, but she’s learned long ago to be ready for anything. Also, could someone explain to Francine that one should not even joke about tempting fate?
